Sin duda todos sabemos quién es Hello Kitty (ハローキティ en japonés). Esta gatita japonesa además de famosa tiene su propio parque de diversiones y está a solo una hora de Tokio.
Crecí con ella y puedo declararme fanática. Al encontrarme en Japón sin duda no pudo faltar en mi itinerario visitar el parque temático que lleva por nombre Sanrio Puroland.
Debo confesar que al visitar el sitio web del parque me di cuenta que la mayoría de las atracciones están dirigidas a niños pequeños pero aún así decidí seguir el plan de visitar el parque.
Navegando en la página me encontré un cupón de descuento para accesar por la tarde. En días festivos es válido a partir de las 3 pm y en días normales a partir de las 2 pm, te sugiero revisar el calendario del parque ya que algunos días cierran a las 5, otros a las 6 y los festivos hasta las 8 pm.El costo del boleto es de 2000 yenes adulto y 1700 niños.
Fui el día del niño en Japón así que por ser festivo cerraban 8 pm, esperaba que estuviera lleno pero no tuve opción de poder cambiarlo para otro día, al llegar me sorprendí mucho al encontrar muy poca gente.
¿Cómo llegar? Las estaciones cercanas al parque son Keio Tama Center Station y Odakyu Toma Center Station, desde el centro de Tokio te tomará alrededor de una hora llegar. Desde que llegas a la estación te das cuenta que estás cerca, en el suelo hay moños de Hello Kitty que te guían y hasta una sala de espera adentro de la estación.
El cupón de la página no lo imprimí, lo guardé en PDF en el celular y con eso fue suficiente para que me aplicaran el descuento.
¿Qué hacer?
Sanrio Boat ride: Un recorrido en bote a través de la fiesta de todos los personajes de Sanrio.
Lady Kitty House: Podrás tomarte una foto con Hello Kitty.
Miracle Gift Parade: Es un desfile de luces y carros alegóricos, en el mapa vienen los horarios. Este show se realiza en el árbol de la sabiduría que se encuentra en el sótano. Tiene como tema a Hello Kitty y Dear Daniel al llegar al Strawberry Kingdom, junto con My Melody y otros personajes de Sanrio que desfilan en carros alegóricos.
Sanrio Town Restaurant: Yo elegí este restaurante para comer, los platillos tienen diversas formas de los personajes. Son tan lindos que no querrás comerlos. Tienen un costo de 1,300 Yenes (Alrededor de $250 pesos mexicanos).
Después de la comida tomé un café en Cinnamorol Dream Café.
Entrance Shop: Finalmente después de que tomes muchas fotos y camines por todo el parque entra a la tienda principal de la planta baja, si compras más de 5,000 yenes puedes subir al primer piso para solicitar la devolución del 8% de impuestos (Tax Free).
Entra al baño: Aunque no tengas ganas entra a verlos, están hermosos.
Al salir del parque estaba a punto de anochecer y esperé unos minutos para poder ver iluminada la entrada.
Fue una experiencia muy divertida, no olvides que todos llevamos un niño dentro y en Japón te sentirás más seguro de dejarlo salir pues todo está lleno de caricaturas y animé.
Visiting Sanrio Puroland in Japan

I grew up with Hello Kitty and I have to confess i am a fan of her and Sanrio characters. Visiting Japan of course I could´t miss visiting Sanrio Puroland, the official amusement park.
I have to say when I saw the website I noticed most of the attractions are aimed at young children. Even though I kept my plan of visiting the theme park.
On the website I found an afternoon discount coupon. On holidays it is valid from 3 pm and weekdays after at 2 pm, I suggest to check park´s schedule because some days closes at 5, others at 6 and holidays until 8 pm.
The cost of the ticket is 2000 yen adult and 1700 children.
I went on Children´s day in Japan and it closed at 8 pm, I expected it to be crowded but I had no option of to change it for another day, arriving I was very surprised to find few people.
How to get? The stations near the park are Keio Tama Center Station and Odakyu Toma Center Station, from the center of Tokyo it will take you about an hour to get there. Since you arrive at the train station you realize that you are nearby, on the floor there are Hello Kitty bows that guide you and a waiting room inside the station.
I didn't´ print the coupon, I saved it in PDF on my cellphone and that was enough to get the discount.
What to do?

Lady Kitty House: You can take a picture with Hello Kitty.
Miracle Gift Parade: It's a parade of lights and floats, on the map you can find schedule. This show is performed on the tree of wisdom that is in the basement. It is about Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel´s arrival to the Strawberry Kingdom with My Melody and other Sanrio characters that parade in floats.
Sanrio Town Restaurant: I chose this restaurant to eat, the dishes have different shapes of Sanrio characters. They are so cute that you don´t want to eat them. They cost of 1,300 Yen.
After the meal I had a coffee at Cinnamorol Dream Café.
Entrance Shop: Finally after you taking many pictures and walking through the park you have to go to the main store on the ground floor, if you buy more than 5,000 yen you can go up to the first floor to request Tax free.
Go to the bathroom: Even if you do don´t want to go you must go to see them, they are beautiful.
As I left the park it was almost sunset and I waited a few minutes to see the entrance illuminated.
It was a very fun experience, never forget that we all have a child inside and in Japan you will feel more confident to let it out because everything is full of cartoons and anime.
